CORONA PILOTS ASSOCIATION
President Paul Bricker
V. President Shane Reichardt
Secretary Margaret Nunnaly
Treasurer Susan Brunner
Editor John Elwell
NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting will be held Sunday June 12th somewhere around 2 PM near or on the terrace. IMPORTANT NOTE; There is a
time change for the next meeting and this applies only to this meeting. Normally the June meeting has been billed as Officer
installation or Officer Takeover with a BBQ turkey furnished by CPA. This year is a special event to honor the Civil Air Patrol.
When the City provided a general thank you for volunteers during the Flood the CAP was not able to attend because of a mix-up on
the notice. This group has done so much for this airport during the flood crisis and during our Airfaire. Now we want to give them
a hearty thank you to show how much we appreciate their help. This activity will begin at 11:30 and continue into the afternoon. It
is anticipated the meeting will take place at 2PM Hamburgers and hot dogs will be furnished, bring a large dish to share.
We would also like to provide plane rides for all that would like to have one. CAP has been informed for their members who want
ride to bring waivers from their parents. IF you are a member of EAA I am told that the Young Eagles program will provide
additional liability insurance. If you are willing to provide a ride notify either the editor or Susan Brunner About CAP Rides on June 12th or you can phone us at the number on the header.
LAST MEETING:
The evening was another nearly perfect night. There were about thirty or so members who enjoyed the program, the food and the
fellowship. Did you ever notice how much hanger flying is occurs at our meeting and the terrace is a perfect place for that kind of
flying.
The annual election of officers was successfully carried out. The new officers for the next year will be: PRESIDENT, Paul Bricker
VICE PRESIDENT, Shane Reichardt, SECRETARY Margaret Nunnaly, TREASURER Susan Bruner. The election went smoothly
and the slate was elected by a landslide which gives them a Mandate to improve the CPA and the airport..
John Elwell agreed to serve one more year as editor but we would like to have an editor in training to learn to do the newsletter for
future years.
Shane Reichardt reported on progress for the 2005 Airfaire. The Theme chosen for this year is SKYWARD and it will be held
October 1st from 10 AM until 3PM . Mark your calendars we will need a lot of help on that day and for one or two days of
preparation so be sure to let Shane know if you can help.
Shane also reported that the new web site is up and running. The Site is CoronaPilots.org It is hoped that this copy of the
newsletter will be posted. So be sure to visit the site. Shane also reports that he has created a gallery for the membership. If you
have a picture of your plane you would like to have displayed Send him the pic at his E-mail Address:
Shane_Reichardt Photos for CPA website. Our thanks to Shane for his efforts.
Dale Winery gave an update on Wings of Faith and their Missionary work. They are in need of volunteers to make trips to Yuma to
haul items to the orphanages there. If you are interested in helping see Dale or Nick Nicolary.
Thank you, notes were read from Bob and Mary Jane Butt for the support given by CPA during the flood and from Barbara
Hamilton after Jim’s death.
Dave Querner led a discussion about TFR’s and the Washington D C incident where an errant pilot caused a major incident He
stressed the importance of knowing where TFRs are and more importantly knowing where you are.
FROM THE PREZ
By Shawnie Querner
Well folks, here we go! Out with the old, in with the new! I am very excited about Paul Bricker being the new President of the Corona Pilots' Association, as he seems to have a long range vision about where the Association is headed. Shane Reichardt, as Vice President, and Corona Airfaire chairman, has lots of wonderful ideas and connections that are bound to help the group. Let's be
sure we all support them in their endeavors on our behalf and volunteer to help wherever needed to make this a fantastic organization that we can all be proud of. I, for one, am looking forward to sitting in the bleachers and volunteering for projects.
I have been proud to represent you all over the past year and a half. The organization has grown tremendously during my tenure as
President, and it has been with the help of ALL members that this has occurred. Each member should be looking to their hangar
mates or tie-down buddies to assure that they are aware we are here on the field and that we provide a wonderful safety seminar
that is beneficial to each and every pilot. As important, in meeting each month, we get to know each other and provide a sense of
security with our Neighborhood Watch program. Watching out for each other is what helped our fellow pilot, Lori Elinsky, when a
person was caught stealing the fuel from her aircraft. The unity we have has made us a stronger group and one that each member
knows they can count on if they have a need.
Thank you for your support and friendship. I will see you in the bleachers!

CORONA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
By Rich Brodeur Airport Manager
Rich Brodeur the airport manger was present and reported that the City was gong to seal coat Aviation drive and make several
improvements to the Aviation Drive area. He also reported that the 99’s were going to clean up the windsock area and to make a
WHEELS sign near the approach end of the runway a very good warning for wheels up pilots. In an effort to increase security the
gates will be closed from 5:30 AM until 5:30 PM. Persons with need to enter or leave during those hours need to get gate card from
the airport office.
TRAVELING CPA
By Nick Nicolary
April 23rd turned out to be a great day....for going to the Chino Airshow!! Turns out that several CPA'ers did just that!! The show
was great - six hours in 90 degree + heat, four pints of water, and a tube of 50spf suntan lotion later, everyone retired to the
comfort of their air-conditioned homes to collapse!
A reminder that the June Fly-in to Tehachapi is on Saturday June 18th - George and Lucy Sandy will be hosting the BBQ portion

NEWS YOU REALLY NEED
By John Elwell
We lost another Member in May, Ron Richardson lost his battle with cancer. Ron has been a long time supporter of CPA and a good friend to aviation. We will miss him and we extend our sympathy to Sue and the family.
Want to talk to someone about cross country flying? Jim and Margaret Nunnaly have just returned from a trip to North Carolina in their little Black Apache. Jim said that the machine ran flawlessly and that Margaret even enjoyed the trip.
Dorothe Balija received her Tail wheel endorsement last month. Congratulations Dorothe.
Harry and Paula Ruscigno lost their Bellanca to a fire last week. Harry had finally got the hanger cleaned out after the flood and decided to taxi the plane from the east end of the field to his hanger. Somehow there was a fire in the undercarriage. Harry departed hastily and the plane went up in flames. Our condolences for this loss.
JUNE 4TH. Promises to be a fun day at Corona Municipal Airport. Bob Suko at Bob’s Café is starting a pancake breakfast on the first Saturday of the month a great pancake breakfast for $5.00 with part of the proceeds going to the CAP. Lets all support this I think it sounds like fun.
Speaking of Bob’s Café, have you noticed the face lifting going on at he café? Bob and Meta are busy brightening the place up so our dining experience can be more pleasant.
Don’t forget the City sponsored Great Taste festival beginning at 4PM. There will be over thirty of Corona’s restaurants participating with booths and lots of good food all for only $25 per person.
